I have a female mallard 2 years old. Today I noticed her one wing is drooping and she looks fluffed out. She is staying off by herself most of the time. The vet is not available for appt till August 14th. What can I do for her till we can see the vet (which is the only vet in our area that takes care of waterfowl.)

Pictures. Best I could get

Do you have drakes, could she have flown into something and injured her wing?
Do you have Poultry Cell? it is an additive with vitamins in it that can help when one isn't feeling good.

I was wrong. The wing that is hanging down is the one that was clipped. If she injured that wing what can I do to make her more comfortable. Vet cannot see her till August 14th.

What happens when you carefully lift the wing? does she gives signs of being hurt? Does she keep it up a bit or does it drop right down again?

What is the temperature at your place? And how is your watersource?
Ar things progressively getting worse? or do they stay stable?

Have her in tub right now for a bath. When I spread out the wing she seemed to flinch, then it went back down. I have her in the garage. Warm enough for her. We are in south carolina so very hot outside. She is very alert but not her normal self

Do you have any Meloxicam it is for Inflammation and pain? Only way we can get it with a prescription but wondering if maybe you have some left over from another time? If not you can give baby aspirin or Ibuprofen.
