Ok i will asap i dont want another chick gone.

Do they ship? I cant get it around here that I know of, only cat and dog food lol. Manhattan doesn't have many flocks, especially chinatown. Also which one for quail?

SHAAZAM! http://wildlife.purinamills.com/DealerLocator/default.aspx?SearchType=Z&ZipCode=10013&Radius=25

go
to there, those are all the purina sellers in YOUR area, your welcome lol. anyway

you need this! http://wildlife.purinamills.com/nutritionmanagement/ECMD2-0017382.aspx GAMEBIRD STARTENA call the closest store and ask for that from purina of course, if they don't have it, call the next one lol.

they might carry another type of game bird food as long as its GBS(Gamebird starter) many companies make them, you are looking for one that is UN-medicated and 24% protein or MORE(Purina is 30%) alot of feed stores will just try and tell you, "oh just use chick starter"...NO! they are NOT the same. Yell at him if he says that.

as far as oyster shell, which is a great source of calcium for eggs, almost every feed store will carry it(which is also on that first link!) you can just mix it in the food and they will eat it out, or use cuttlefish bone like i do, tho some birds don't like pecking at it. REGARDLESS make sure it is oyster shell GRIT NOT PULLET(pullet is a little larger and could cause choking) i unfortunetly use pullet, but i run it thru a strainer of sorts to get the big pieces out. pullet is ment for chickens, bigger birds, bigger necks loll.

anyway hope it helps!

Thanks! Do you think they would ship like 5 or 10lbs? because, 15 miles is quite a ways to walk lol. Sometimes they don't want to waste so the only ship bulk, but I can't fit a 50lb bag in my room

If they don't, my last resort is purina dog chow (it's horrible for dogs because of the whole grains and high protein something like 32%, of course supplemented with other stuff. Oh and, when can i start feeding mini mealworms or small size crickets?
Edit: Then again, I can persuade my mom to drive me there since she feels bad about the dead chick and it's only about 30 mins to get there.

Another thing...It isn't the high protein in the Purina that is bad for dogs. High protein is very beneficial. It is the corn, wheat, soy, and sugar that are the main culprits of food allergies and have little to no nutrients. Kibble is also cooked, therefore you lose even more nutrients from the heating process. Your dog could live a much healthier life on straight raw meat than the other junk. You could feed your quail GBS and then feed your dog the quail

You would have a very happy, healthy dog!

X2

Exploding birds from eating rice is a myth. Uncooked rice is like a seed. It will pass thru to the gizzard and what is not ground up there, will pass thru the bird. The rice will not absorb liquid and cause exploding birds.
