I need to know what breed I have!

Sounds like you have leghorn's all figured out..only catch when necessary. The neat thing though once you catch them they melt in your arms and don't really fight it..just be in fit shape before taking on the task..or send a kid to do it.

They lay so well you just live with their ways..and they free range great

isnt that the truth! Mine lays so well I can set my alarm to her!!!! Yeah pain to catch, but she does like to talk to me when I have my treats and tho its taken me forever, she does hit and run when it comes to eating out of my hand! LOL Has the funniest clucks....if thats even what you would call her noises! But I can put up with her antics if she keeps laying good for me! And she is a pretty bird!!!! She is so much calmer since I sold all her sisters...she was an "oops" buy anyway...I bought 11 of them at TSC when they were labeled as Easter Egger pullets....what a disappointment!!!!! They made the coop crazy...so sold all but two, then the roo was driving the birds as I've said earlier and he is gone now all is calm and happy, she has really come around, just as long as I dont catch her! LOL

Nice pictures....I have a friend with brown leghorns, and her birds are very nice.... I really think
that it can be individual. I had a white leghorn, and there known for being flighty and she was
a doll.... nothing like what i was told to expect. Good luck !

Thanks for the compliment!! I think where you get them plays a HUGE factor as well! I handled these birds ALL the time when I got them at a few days old..along with the other birds I got at the same time. I can pick up most all of my other birds, but just not her! But she is coming around I hope...so much better than she was when her other "sisters and brother" were with her. Being around all calm birds help. I hope I can make her a friendly bird one day!
