I need y'all to post pic of your chickens!!

They are therapeutic.
They are pets just like a dog or cat.
You can eat the eggs or their meat if you keep meat birds.
They help owners to be more self sufficient.
Help teach kids responsibility.

Find out what they're afraid of. It could be noise, smell, disease, predators, property values.
I spoke at a city council meeting this summer and they are now allowed 5 chickens.
The resident that spearheaded the effort contacted all city council members and got a list of objections which we effectively countered.

THIS is a fantastic reason (and picture!) right here. It helps teach kids environmental responsibility, sustainable growth, and where their food comes from. One of the biggest problems in the US now is obesity and sedentary lifestyles of children. One way to help prevent that is by getting them interested in something other than video games and movies. Something that gets them up, outside, and doing stuff! What better way to do that than to send them on an easter egg hunt every day?! I LOVE this picture too. it is so darling! aoxa, thanks for sharing!

Don't forget, many of the law makers you are going to be convincing know NOTHING about chickens. Let them know their habits (IE- UNLIKE cats and dogs, they do not wander far from home, are not distructive to other people's property, can assist in controling pest insect populations, the volume of the noises they make are not as loud as cats or dogs [though an exact volume would be a good number to include], they are not a public danger [which dogs CAN be] etc)
