Jadeheart had slept all night. She had had the noon patrol the day before. She yawned stretched luxuriously, padding out into the woods, unbeknownst to her clanmates.



Her ears swiveled to a cardinal singing in a tree, red and yellow leaves drifting down. (Time of year? Climate?)
Her tail twitched in the leaves below. She unsheathed her claws. But instead of attacking, for a tree was far too difficult to climb, she dug her claws into the furrows in the bark, relaxing. It felt so good to scratch the bark. She wandered to an icy cold stream, lapping quietly.

Auburnleaf turned in her sleep. It had been a late night with her apprentice.
Droppaw felt a bit sore from his training himself.
 
Honeypaw opened one eye. She saw light coming into her den. She saw the apprentices begin to shuffle out. She wanted to join them, but her nest was so cozy, and the air was chill.
The apprentices disappeared around the side of the den. Honeypaw finally heaved herself out of the nest. I don't want to look lazy. I'm almost a warrior! She thought, taking mismatched steps out of the den.
