"I care about him because you can not abandon a kit and then expect him to be ok and send him parading over the countryside where there are potential foxes and owls!" Jadeheart said.
Dropspring sprung and dropped in front of him. "No, that is a mousebrained idea! Why do you want to bring a kit? I'll go and deal with your complaints as you find her. He stays."

“You’re not going You foxheart! I’m bringing Darkkit because out of all of you cats he wants to find her. She said she was left for dead and meant it! I’ll go by myself, I’m thinking I don’t want to come back either! Maybe Auburnleaf the most traitorous will have fun leading a clan of traitors.”

"The most traitorous are the deserters, if you don't agree with her, stop yelling in her face to change things and change them. Jadeheart doesn't need to hear your empty retorts, she wants to take care of kits and make sure they stay safe. Would you rather he die?" Dropspring said, gesturing to Jadeheart gingerly talking to Darkkit. "Now, I'm going with you, let's go. I don't want to hear arguments that make more cats leave." Dropspring pushed the apprentice forward. "And don't forget I am older."

“No!” She snapped, “A traitor isn’t the boss of me! Icepaw I’ll miss you! Auburnleaf I hate you and Dropspring, you aren’t coming. This is my journey, fine the kit isn’t going, I go alone. Don’t you want to stay or wouldn’t you be a deserter to? I may not be coming back!”
