KK(I accidentally wrote wrong name, then edits. If you quoted it, you would have seen the edits. What Dropspring said
(Dropspring just sat there in the medicine den, wondering what he was doing there. He stared at the ceiling. His eyes, or rather, his nose wandered, before fixing on the herbs. He sniffed them, letting the pungent smells sooth his nose. "Nice place you got."))
Flowerpaw withered a little on the ground. The fox had bit his tail, leaving a large kink. "I'm going to have Rainshadow check this." She said.
Birdpaw, still defending the nursery looked at his deep scratches. "If Rainshadow wants to heal me, she can. But I'm not going to help overflow her den."
Silvernight looked at her apprentice, shaking. She looked over at Dropspring who she was secretly crushing on. The attack had been bad, and two cats had died- Stormleap and Cheetahfang. She was heartbroken. They would be honored tonight.
Leapordfur looked at her sister- her dead body with blood spilling out of her stomach.
Stormcloud walked over too Silvernight, saying, "It will be alright Silvernight. Flowerpaw is fine."
Goosekit, the brave little thing, looked around at the chaos. His mother was yelling for his littermate- he would make her proud and look for Sheepkit. He ran off, in search of his Littermate.
Wispcloud stood by Willowbreeze, licking her. She was gently licking the new wound on his would be eye. He gazed at his kits, hiding under Willowbreeze.
Ivykit and Breezekit hid under WIllowbreeze. They succled on her milk, drinking as much as possible. The fresh kill pile was empty, so the hunters would have to get to work.
Woodclaws walked to her kits, telling them how brave they were.
Riverwhisker looked around the camp for any leftover fresh kill. The fox had taken it all.
Rainshadow dug through her supply of herbs, looking for the right one. "Jadeheart! OOOOOH JADEHEART!!!!" She yelled. She wanted Jadeheart and Fallingrain to retrieve some herbas from by the tree.
(I'm soooooooo sorry about inactiveness!My notifications aren't working
and Bubblegum (The chicken) has needed extra help in the smoke. )
(That's what I was thinking.)(How come so many cats are hurt? For one fox with so many cats attacking it that are more than half its size, it should be dead.)
Lunastar looked at her and mewed, “I’m going to live with my twolegs you have to act as leader. Announce the dead cats please. My lives got taken when I lost one earlier. Please understand...”
“These twolegs have been kind to me for moons, I ran away when they trapped me and never returned. I want to go back and live with them. There I don’t have to watch my cats die around me. I am just Luna now, that is what they named me.”
Auburnleaf struggled not to roll her eyes. "Leaders afraid to lose lives when they have so many, and yet they lose them so quickly. You realize I am losing my respect for you and Appletree. You are making our clan look weak. When a kittypet joins the clan, she does not go back to her twolegs when things get tough. Seedclan needs you and Appletree more than ever right now, and now you abandon us? It is enough to have a kittypet as a leader right now," Auburnleaf's voice was calm and collected, but her eyes were filled with emotion. It pained her to talk to a clan mate like this, who trusted her, but she knew it was better to confront her. Anger welled inside her chest. Her tongue felt numbed.
Flitterplight flipped his ears back and snarled, “I loved you, you leave me now? You are expecting another litter of my kits and you leave.” Gasps of horror sounded around him and he fled the camp.
"Why did you ever chose to be deputy? You know the choices you made when you came to join us. You could have at least left as a Warrior, instead of leader? I'm afraid I can't let you leave, and you must lose every one of those lives in battle. Starclan will never hear your pleas for forgiveness. You should have told them then that you wanted to go back to your twolegs that suddenly matter to you. The only way you will escape this is running," like a dog. Auburnleaf couldn't believe she had ever trusted this kittypet.
“They’ve already taken my lives. I must leave, I’m so sorry. I started meeting my twolegs as deputy and never stopped... I loved them and I still do. I have to return, do you want a leader who can’t lead?”
"I can't you are the leader now. I am expecting kits, I can't it's leaf bare. I will miss you very much Auburnleaf."
Grassfrost narrowed her eyes, and glared at her mother. "So I'm not only half-clan but part Kittypet now! I hate you Luna, I'm glad you are leaving." She turned away and started to cry from sorrow. Her mother didn't love her enough to stay...
"Fine, leave!" Auburnleaf hissed. Her voice softened. "But don't expect forgiveness from me. I will try to remember all the goodness you did for us, but I am afraid you are unforgiveable."
She paced.
"You, nor Rainshadow can come with me tonight," she said, mostly to herself. "I may have to go to the Moonstone, alone, unlike what you had the luck of doing."
Shadowchaser hissed at Luna, "How dare you? I was your friend! You leave now, at our darkest hour! I am going to my den to think you, traitor."
Luna hung her head and mewed, "I'll miss you and I deserved that..."
Grassfrost clawed her face and ran off into the warriors den to cry.
"I can't forgive you..." she muttered.
Jadeheart looked up with sad, hollow eyes, neither accepting nor denying this comment. Which usually meant she denied it. She was too nice to agree.
But then she spoke.
"Go home, Luna, but never speak to us again." She shrugged and smiled a little.
Finchstripe approached her former leader. "No one should force you to stay. But you are being unfair to your clan, but most of all your mate. If you can't lead the clan, at least stay in Seedclan for Flitterplight. Flitterplight has devoted himself to you, and you abandon him like this? Stay for Flitterplight."
"I'm so sorry my friends my family my mate. I must leave, I love you all, I’ll miss you forever. My kits will be given to the clan when they are old enough. I can’t keep them from the life they deserved.”
Honeycloud watched as one of her closest friends slashed Luna across the face. This was too much for her.
My own mother's poor judgement has revealed Luna as a coward! What kind of Clan is this? Who can I trust anymore!
It saddened her to think of Luna in such a way. She'd always looked up to her, but now she knew she had to look down.
The same bitter hate that had come over her when her mother had backed down from leadership swept over her again like wildfire.
If this Clan is only cowards, who would care if I left? For I am a mouse-brained coward myself.
Dropspring leaned into her.
"A coward she is," he growled. "What kind of cowardly kittypet turns leader and then runs back to her twolegs soon as things get bad? That is the absolute worst canidate for leader I have ever seen! Even that rogue male would have been better," he grumbled.
"Of course selfish kittypets only think of themselves!" Auburnleaf hissed. "Go! I don't want to see your sorry face then!"
"What did you see in her that made you think she'd be a good leader!" Honeycloud snapped. She had given in to her mother's lovey-dovey nice words before, but this time she knew it was only a game. They toy with her and ruin her life, give excuses and pretend to fix it, and then screw it up all over again.
"I'm sorry Auburnleaf, you will be a better leader then I. I will miss you dearly." These were her last words before she exited the camp and ran into the woods. Her thoughts were flooded with memories of her clanmates.
"Yeah, why did you pick her, the worst possible option?" Dropspring spat.
Auburnleaf tucked her tail around her feet, the wind tugging her matted fur, copper eyes forlorn. Now was a time to mourn, and yet not, for diplomatic matters were at hand, and they needed a calm leader most right now.
She stepped onto Highrock.
"All cats old enough to catch their own prey, gather!" She yowled.
She remembered as a little grey kit watching that rock, imaging herself there. Now this was real, and yet, she felt no happiness in doing it.
Appletree was shaking and she mewed, "I'm so sorry I love you so much. I thought she was a good friend and fair cat. I didn't know she was a cat who was a traitor. It started when she was deputy mind you."
Pearlglow padded solemnly towards the Star Log, pressing close against her littermate Wispcloud. She, Wispcloud, Tanglepelt, Birdpaw and Flowerpaw, and Woodclaws heaved Stormleap's body into a hole that Wispcloud had dug.
Nightpaw watched with hollow eyes as her mentor was buried. He had barely trained with her, but she still remembered touching her nose to his, and his soft murmur of encouragement. She stared at the ground, then turned and limped back to camp. All these cats arguing and leaving the clan over petty things, while warriors are being buried. She thought bitterly, her ears against her head.Pearlglow watched as Woodclaws scratched a mark on the tree. It was in the shape of a thundercloud. It pained her to see her friend so saddened. Though Stormleap had been Pearlglow's older brother and father figure, he was the love of Woodclaws' life.
“Yeah well gossiping about Lunastar and stuff made her leave in the first place! That’s right I’m still calling her Lunastar! I don’t care who died in this fight! I don’t care! The two cats who loved me are gone! I’m leaving to! Goodbye I’ll come back when I can! Goodbye Rustpaw and Nightpaw the only two that care. I love you Rustpaw, I’ll come back when I find Emberfeather and bring her home.”
“Do you want to stay in the warriors den for tonight? You stay with us, we honor you and your sister as warriors tonight.”
"Sure," Icicle mewed. "I will do what I can to keep this Clan together."
Silverwing let Icicle get comfortable before stepping out of the den. "Cats of Seedclan tonight has been difficult. We either face it together or fall divided. Finchstripe aid Rainshadow in giving out poppies seeds and treating wounds. Galefeather watch over Icepaw until he is looked at. Flamepaw stay in the nursery with Emberfeather's kits, and the rest of you get some sleep. We have a long day tomorrow."
Flamepaw felt a kit move beside her and pulled the kit closer with her tail. She was comforted by the kits and Rustpaw allowing herself to sleep properly.
Rustpaw could feel the kits next to him. He felt protective over Flamepaw and the kits.
Lightkit whimpered and snuggled between the apprentices.
“I want Emberfeather. Where is Fluffypaw?” She asked.
“Flamepaw...why did mama run away?”
Flamepaw quivered and started it think of an answer.. “She was grieving, do you know Luna? She was your kin and your mother’s sister. They were not only good friends but close sisters. She was fueled by emotion and fled. I plan to go find her.”
“I know who Luna is.” Lightkit sighed. “Why is Luna not the leader anymore? What made mama so sad?” Lightkit’s mind was flooded with more questions than answers.
Flamepaw licked the kit and mewed, “Luna... didn’t want it be leader anymore.... She was so sad because.... Luna has to leave and she didn’t want her to...” She hid the true horror of the events of the kits.
Softkit was still awake. She sat silently, her eyes on the forest. She still had hope that Emberfeather would come right back to camp, but deep down she knew she wouldn't.(I'll consider that.)
(That too)
"You didn't answer my question," Dropspring said. "Anyways, I have to go to bed. Big day tomorrow." He yawned and stretched, and went to his den.
(Auburnleaf was her friend to, but doesn't trust Luna anymore.)
(Yus.)
"And now, I must leave for the Moonstone," she said, waving her tail in flourish. She left the scene and walked through the woods, brooding in the quiet darkness on loud, dark thoughts.
Luna is a traitor. Emberfeather leave when she is needed most. If her kits are supposed to do anything great, how can they do it alone?
She contemplated whether to pick Silverwing as deputy. She is experienced and trustworthy, and I want to show my respect for her, despite Luna being her sibling, and yet I don't trust her enough. We need a cat that stands out and leads the crowd...
Finchstripe. She was phenomenal. She calmed the crowd and got to business without being asked, and yet, she's young, and not always serious. Reminds me of Jadeheart.
~~~ Jadeheart curled around Darkkit in the nursery.
"Why'd she leave?" He asked.
"Emberfeather was worried about Luna, it was too much for her. She wants you to be strong though. Don't worry, I'll help you. I know you are destined to great things."
"That doesn't answer all the questions."
"I know, but I don't have all the answers." Jadeheart's green gaze fixed on him. "No one does."
"Why'd Lunastar leave?"
"I'm going to tell you the truth, and nothing but. I'm an honest cat, and I wouldn't tell you anything else. But do you want to hear it?" Jadeheart touched his little nose.
"No matter what you say, I want to know everything."
"Lunastar left because she wanted to see her Twolegs at home, and never come back. She was too scared."
"Oh, that's not so bad." Darkkit said.
But he, a kit didn't understand how important this was. And so he fell asleep.
Jadeheart curled around him. "I wish."
Rainshadow stared out at the moon, it was growing larger by the night. She sighed and stalked into her den. She felt cold, even with her long, lacy fur. She was freezing this Leaf bare. She got up, stretching and wobbled over to the warriors den. She wan't to feel like a warrior, not an elder. She was sleeping with her friends, her family, and her clanmates. Her clanmates. They were hers. And even though she was a medicine cat, she would defend her clan. She curled up by Finchstripe (?) and Honeycloud (?).
"Rainshadow, you must choose the new deputy. Silvernight would work well, Finchstripe would be a good match as well. But remember- Auburnstar is still unsure what will happen- Jadeheart would be a good choice, but is soon going to be pregnant- so not her. Fallingrain- he is a good hunter, warrior, and kind. If you choose him, make sure that when Fallingrain is leader that Jadeheart isn't deputy. Most importantly- Don't choose Silverwing or Mossheart. There intentions seem good, but they aren't." It was little Lightkit. He was so cute, smart, and mystical-y.
"O-okay." Rainshadow replied. That was a lot of good cats- only 2 bad cats.
Brightkit*
Rainshadow woke up. Tonight was full moon. the other clans- oh what would they think? Two leaders in gone one moon- must be a record. She was scared, but happy that yesterday was done. She ran to Double Tree and bounded up. She licked her leg. It was sore. She hated it- feeling like an elder because she tried to hunt.
"Let all cats with an opinion gather around Double Tree." She called. She didn't care what Auburnleaf said- she was choosing the deputy. And she wanted the kits to have an input.
Willowbreeze, Ivykit, and Breezekit wandered out of the den. Flowerpaw, Birdpaw, and Dawnpaw bounded out of the warriors den as well. Silvernight and all my iother characters came from lots of different places to listen to Rainshadow.
(Yes- I forgot the name- Stupid Kate!)
(Wut?)
Gingerkit looked up at Rainshadow and mewed, “What you doing cat? That’s for the leader only!”
Softkit butted Gingerkit in the head and mewed, “She’s the medicine cat mouse brain!”
@9SpiceyChickens
(No- I just wanted a plot twist. And Mossstar would get teased- Hey Mosssssssssstar!)
(Not trying to powerplay!!!)
"Because I am the medicine cat- Starclan has sent me a dream. Fallingrain is deputy." Rainshadow announced. To tie it all up, the rain started falling slowly. Starclan approved of her choice.
Fallingrain stood up and mewed, “No I can’t accept that. I didn’t earn it or anything. What about Silverwing or Finchstripe? They’ve both been working hard.”
Gingerkit stood up and mewed, “Flitterplight is loyal and brave. He gave up everything for Luna. He knows firsthand how hard everything like this is. I think he would make an excellent choice.”
"But don't you see- the rain is falling." Rainshadow meowed. If Fallingrain didn't except, Fiinchstripe would be leader.
Softkit didn't. Her eyes were distant, and she barely payed attention to the other kits' talk.All the other kits in her litter nodded in approval.
“I can’t, why risk me ending up like my sisters? I was always the shy one and you all know that.”
"Please Fallingrain! You wouldn't disappoint us, would you?" Goosekit meowed. Ivykit and Breezdekit looked up, batting their eyes.
Gingerkit looked at Rainshadow, “I think you should choose wisely this descion shapes out future.”
"Okay then." Rainshadow said, giving up. She was nice and dry, but liked being wet. "If Fallingrain wont't be deputy, then Finchstripe must."
Willowbreeze walked over to the kit, quietly. "Don't interfere. She knows what she is doing." Willowbreeze whispered to the kit.
"Okay...." Ivykit and Breezekit meowed, sighing. Ivykit was sad, but thought this might be the best decision.
(When did a kit get this wise? xD)“A wise choice is the best one. Look at what Appletrees choice got us. I think someone smart and understanding is best. I’ll say it if I want to. My say is just as important as yours. We all live in the community and we all suffer when one suffers.”
Jadeheart rolled her eyes. She hoped this cat wouldn't be leader. Finchstripe wisely told them all to have rest. She curled around Darkkit.
"It's ok," he said.
"I'll go then," she said, getting up.
"Yes, Finchstripe," Jadeheart echoed. "As much as I love and support my mate, I think she is an excellent speaker, and brave and smart. I need him here with me."
She smiled happily, leaning into him.
"And you can't chose the leader. Only Auburnleaf can."
"Yes, what is the meaning of a medicine cat choosing the leader?" Dropspring said.
“Didn’t you hear? Starclan told her to!” Snapped Silverwing, these two were starting to get on her nerves.
Rainshadow felt offended. "If I was like other cats, I would run away right now. But I'm not." Rainshadow pondered something for a second, "Dropspring, come up here."
"And he doesn't want to be leader. If he says he doesn't want to be leader, we can't force it. I trust him not to run, but you are kinda forcing him in that direction. I apologize that I am using your name like you aren't here, Fallingrain," Jadeheart said.
“I hope that’s it...” Gingerkit was starting to feel sick and queasy. A vision struck into her thoughts and she saw a gray cat with bloody paws standing over an unrecognizable cat.
"Can you come to my den? I want you to act as Medicine Cat for a day. I want you to see what I see." Rainshadow replied. At least now she had a den mate.
Softkit snapped back to reality. "Gingerkit?" She mewed, her voice strangely quiet. She prodded her sister.“Rainshadow!! Help me! So much blood and death! I can’t..,” Then Gingerkit fainted.
"This won't change my mind. The notion that a medicine cat could pick deputy. This could be fine if you at least negotiated with Auburnstar first, then she would say yes. You know she would. Absolutely certain.
If we hadn't so much need for a medicine cat, that could get you rid of your title."
Dropspring had to explain this to her "It's part of the Code. I follow the Code."
Gingerkit was shivering in her faintedness, waiting for death.
"Gingerkit!" Jadeheart ran to her and held Gingerkit gingerly in her paws. "It will be ok, it will be ok, we will find something when Auburnstar comes back. We will fix everything."
She walked to the front of the crowd. "I propose that we do not go to the gathering tonight, except Silverwing and Rainshadow. I'm not leader nor do I expect to be listened to, but this can all be settled when Auburnstar comes back. Until then, I think since Silverwing is stand-in deputy, she calls the the shots."
“I concur, but Honeycloud should not be the only cat brought. Is anyone else willing to travel with us? We cannot seem weak, especially now.” Silverwing shouted.
"There have been desperate times before when clans have not gone at all," Jadeheart said. (Who said that.)
Rainshadow rushed over. She licked Gingerkit. "Willowbreeze! Come take her to the Nursery!" Willowbreeze rushed over, picking up the kit. SHe ran to her den, and lay down with Ivykit, Breezekit, and now Gingerkit. They kept her warm.
(Maybe he's not wise. Maybe he is giving Rainshadow empty advice! Maybe Finchstripe still can be deputy!(That's what I was thinking.)
Nightpaw watched with hollow eyes as her mentor was buried. He had barely trained with her, but she still remembered touching her nose to his, and his soft murmur of encouragement. She stared at the ground, then turned and limped back to camp. All these cats arguing and leaving the clan over petty things, while warriors are being buried. (When did a kit get this wise? xD)
Softkit snapped back to reality. "Gingerkit?" She mewed, her voice strangely quiet. She prodded her sister.
