I have been hauling around 4 to craft shows
Yesterday, people commented on how, not only, real they looked but how well I weighted them.
I make sure the head flops backand that the rear is super pat-able!

I will get some good pics and post them soon!

I need a body for a 10in doll (I sculpted a smaller monkey and don't want to sew a body) and a pair of 18mm true blue eyes

I have a friend that is looking to buy heads and hands (small)
Do you know of any sites that just sell heads and hands? Maybe even seperate...
She is making angels and won't need full arms or the legs.

My mother in-law & one of her friends do this as well. they look very real. They even put real hair in some of the dolls. They did kind of freak me out in the beginning too

This is my baby that I will never sell!!!
I have always wanted a monkey...
(until I saw a show and a woman showed what her monkeys did to her arms... "All monkeys bite")
Now I have the perfect monkey baby!
I have yet to give him a name though...





I am going to root some more hair on his arms and legs an maybe trim them up a little
I love his stinkin cute face though!!!!

BB sells just heads and limbs....though it's hit and miss on what they have available. Go to supplies and click parts and plates.

Hey BFmom...isn't that a gorilla baby?...I have never made a primate reborn, what colors did you use to paint...what?
Oh and thank you! Now I'm thinking, primate????..hmmm interesting....lol

I used the BB- warm blush, GHSP- Burnt Umber (you could use BB- brow brown), and BB- blush, lips, nails
I have used ash blonde, med brown, and dark brown mohair

It was fun to make him... not as much pressure to get the colors just right (but I still messed with it forever LOL)
I wanted the nose to be more red but I think he turned out really cute.
Took me 4 hours straight to root the head!!!! Not to mention the arms and legs!

Okay.... I have to ask
What is the secret to getting the right mixture of thinner and paint to paint hair?
It either goes on too thick or too thin... I can't get it to finish a full line or it gets a little runny.
I use mineral spirits... is that my problem? Do I need the special thinning medium?

Have you ever tried to "glue" mohair to the head with the matte finish?
I think I am going to giv it a try soon

I took my gorilla baby to a craft show on Saturday...
I am so glad that I had a good looking kid... It would have been so heartbreaking to me to hear everyone say how ugly my baby was...
People are so rude when they think they are out of hearing range
