I set eggs 2/27/10 ** DUE 3/20th-3/21st** WE"RE HATCHING!!!!

Yeah, I've been busting my butt to get the planter beds, deck, shed, koi pond, table/chairs and other assundry things built before I can't take the sun/heat. Also having to get this garden finished, trees trimmed, burr issue resolved in the front lawn....

There just aren't enough hours in the day when hubby is working 6 days/12-16 hours and I'm having to do it all myself!

To add insult to injury, I've been suckered into building all the displays for the quilt show next month for our club.

Do not have time to THINK!!! Good thing I'm ignoring the bator and its raining right now so I can have a break!

At least you can do that stuff right now. Here we have a foot of snow on the ground yet. And you are blessed that your DH has a job that can give him those hours. Too many people are not so lucky. I am lucky that my DH has one of those good jobs. I am a stay at home mom right now because of the acconomy.

I just candled what I could in my bator. 9 bad bobwhite quail eggs out of 24. But only 3 maybe no's on 26 lighter chicken eggs. And 7 are the Blue Marans that I can't see a thing. Not bad if I do say so myself.

Later tonight we should be going to Babylady4's house to candle those eggs. They are far enough along that we should be able to toss out the bad ones. At least the ones that we can see through.

Well, here are two of my candling pictures from this evening (Day 4) - I'm experimenting with photo-editing to try and make the veining sharper:

Well..... I candled.
In the bator:
Out of 5 mutts, there are 2 questionable, only because Joe lays two toned eggs (heavy pink film over brown shell) that are dang near impossible to see through. Bertha's whopper eggs are going along nicely!!!
Out of 23 silkies there are 3 questionable, all laid by the same girl so there is either a fertility issue with her or I just can't see veining through her splotchy eggs.

Under the broody:
Out of 3 EE/mutts, there was one clear and the other two I can't tell
Out of 2 silkies, one is questionable, same girl mentioned above

I only removed the obvious clear one, and I figured it was probably not fertile anyway when I set it, hadn't seen Killer jump her before today.

Hubby made our first chick sale today to a coworker, he'll take all the mutts that hatch and a few of the silkies....... At $3 each!!!
