I candled tonight and pulled two quitters. I have 2 others that are questionable...but several more with movement!! I was thrilled to see movement after finding my bator at 109 a few days ago. We shall see...........

I set 12 duck eggs and 3 of my pure Buff Brahmas on 3-20. Due date is April 10th (4 more days)!! Lock down is tommorrow. Oh and I candled them, none of the duck eggs were fertile while all three of my Buff Brahmas are developing and getting ready to hatch!! I also have two broodies!!! 1st broody started sitting on 6 White Cochin/Buff Brahma and 4 pure Buff Brahma, which makes it 10 under her. With the 2nd broody, I'm collecting some more Buff Brahma eggs to put under her in about 3 more days.

ok, candling showed down to 14 eggs that actually have chicks in them so about 1/3 were quitters or no starts. I did not crack any that didn't develop (can't stand seeing the little chikie embryos) The other 14 are going strong! Most of these were shipped eggs, but I'm proud to say the three that i put in from my chickens have all developed.

so right now I have 3 Buckeyes, 1 eexwelsummer cross, 2 silkies and 8 barnevelders going great! I'm excited as there is exactly one week left!

Ok, I just want next week to come...........................so the chicks will be here
