Just candled again, tossed on egg as clear. I have three more that I think are duds too, but not completely sure so I'm keeping them in for now. The rest look good.

It's super hot and humid here. I came home from Easter celebrations to find my bator at 109!

I candled and I have a couple that had movement. I'm not very optimistic about this hatch. I'll candle in a couple of days and see what's happening then.

Hi I would love to join in too....we are a few days ahead with our set on March 22nd. I candled our 18 eggs yesterday at day 13 and all seems well with our 10 Australorps, 2 of 3 SLW`s unfortunately look clear although hubby wants me to hold off tossing as we are rookies (This is my third hatch but not for several years). I`ll likely remove them at lockdown this Friday when we candle just before settling the babes in. We also have 5 Americaunas which I can see good airspaces but have difficulty seeing much chickie. I find it harder to see in the blue/green eggs. So I am hoping all is well with them.
I can relate to the hovering! I am already imagining a sleepless night next Sunday as they start to peep and pip.
It seems like agessssss ago that I set and time is really dragging now.

I have a hard time seeing in the green eggs too. Even harder than the dark brown ones. I'm using a little flashlight for candling and I've tried both yellow old school bulbs and the new bluish LED. It was a little better to see with the yellow, but still tough.

Yes...in the dark brown ones I could at least see the blood vessels but not in the blue greens. I am hoping that the growing airspace is a good indicator that all is well...as my wise hubby says `what are you going to do anyways?`

Ok, keep trying to log on from my home computer and it won't let me....

So here I am. Candled all my eggs this past Friday, (day 8) Saw movement in almost all. (dark eggs, I couldn't see too well). Think I have 1 w/a bloodring, but not sure, still watching it.

I went out for the day and my husband kept an eye on my eggs. It got too hot in our room so he tried to turn down the incubator and turned it the wrong way

It was 117 the next time he checked it. Everything is dead. So much for a successful first hatch, don't know if I'm gonna try again this year or not, that was a real big disappointment. The little giant incubator just might not be right for me, it needs so much adjustment!

So sorry about that. I bought an LG to use just as a hatcher. I threw some eggs in there earlier this week, but I agree, the temp just doesn't hold steady at all. I really don't understand it. seems like once a thermostat is set the temp inside it may vary a little, but it should just kick off and prevent them from getting hotter unless you turn it up by accident like your husband did and it should kick on until the temp goes up to what you had it set at. The temps on this thing are all over the place even if you don't touch the dial. People seem to indicate its a insulation problem, but I think the thermostat on these things must be a piece of crap. It shouldn't matter what the temperature outside the thing is as long as its kickin on and off like it should. I would be calling a heating and cooling specialist if my home thermostat was that out of control.


I am very please with my Brinsea though, and even if it cost more, its much easier to use, easier to clean etc. I also like that the egg turner turns the hole incubator and not the eggs so it doesn't matter what size eggs you have in it.
