I should have been more patient....

Why don't you keep your LG for a Hatcher? You might need one.

Then get the Genesis also.

Have you tried putting some small jars of water in there to help keep it stable?

An olive jar is about the right size, or if you can, a jelly jar. If the humidity is ok, keep them closed, if not, leave them open.

I can keep my LG regulated.

When you move the little heat thingy, move it the TINIEST bit you can, and then wait at LEAST an hour.

By all means if you have the money get another bator and ether keep the LG as a hatcher or get youre money back.

That being said LG arnt that bad most the timee if you use them properly ,

the more you Tweek the knob trying to get the right temp the more you get temp flucts , if you try to up or down it only a degree or two the knob is soo senstive that if you feel it move under youre finger you already moved it to much. if its at 96 97 you can put a hand towle or baby blanket over half of it and get it up without touching the knob, if the temp in the room changes the temp in the bator will change if sunlight hits it the temp will change if you got a draft that sweeps acroos the floor like I do the temps will change.
You should run an LG for more then 24 hours because it takes longer then that to get the feel for the irritateing thing.
When you put in water the temp will change when you put in eggs the temp will REALLY change but eventually go back to normal when the eggs reach inc temp.
Good luck whatever you decide to do .

I have 2 forced air LG's. They are in a small spare bathroom and hold the temperature and humidity very well. Do have to be careful with adjustments though, they are very sensitive. I also have a 1588 in a bedroom that does well too. And an old round Hovabator that I use for hatching. I had to replace the wafer in it because it was up and down, but it holds very steady now.

I made a Miss Prissy cooler bator with a plastic cooler and it holds temps completely steady! The biggest fluctuation I have had is 2 degrees, usually it's only 1 degree. The humidity holds steady too.

i have a small cheap styrofoam incubator still air, and i have no problems with it. i ran it for 3 days to make sure temp was steady, it stayed steady, even after adding the eggs it still stays steady i dont have to bother it or adjust it. i like my bator

I use my LG for a hatcher. It IS hard to regulate, and temp and humidity go up and down pretty radically. I've found it helps immensely to wrap a blanket (I use a fleece wrap) around half of it. Part of the problem is the less dense and thinner styrofoam, compared with the hovabator. So any environmental changes are magnified.

My power went out for 2 hours at one point. The hova lost less than 1 degree; the LG dropped to about 72. Wow.

Now I am pondering and Octo 20. Someday I will make up my mind lol So much info out there and so many opinions. Funny one thing that apeals to me about the Octo 20 is 20 is the perfect amount for me/us at a time and I couldn't go over it haha.
