If anyone on a windows machine is still seeing the men and women avatars, try doing a ctrl F5.
"To ensure you see the latest version of a site you need to clear the cache memory. This is done by doing a force refresh by pressing both control and F5 buttons simultaneously on your keyboard (depending on your browser)."

Yeah, some browsers will be caching the old pics. You can force refresh the page or clear your cache (for BYC or all sites).

That's odd, I saw the new avatars before of the rooster and hen but now it is back at the original when I recently just got on my phone. Do I need to do a ctrl F5 as @casportpony suggested?
