I started dating a wonderful man

You make your own happiness. If you are a happy person, have friends and a fulfilling life, it doesn't matter whether or not you have a man in it. You will still be a happy person. Honestly ,you have to be ok with yourself, BY yourself, before you can truly be in a happy, healthy relationship. You sound like a very strong young woman. Don't let anyone else's experience cloud your view or expectations of yourself. You are a unique individual, and create your own reality and happiness. You stay strong and date when you are darn well good and ready!

Haha, with enough animals and a nice camera, I think I would be just fine by myself. I guess my fear is the same as, like, getting my blood drawn. Just one of those things that I'm afraid of, but don't really have a reason to be! I am a very social person though and I've cut a lot of contacts lately because I just didn't feel as if those "friend" relationships were going anywhere. That's been tough, but I'm at an awkward age where people are either too immature or getting married. I don't quite fit in with either group!

I didn't mean to steal your thread Andi! I too would like to know if you sold him any fish!

So happy for you!!

I recently got out of a 4 yr relationship, came out of it pretty well actually! But I still have that fear in the back of my mind that I wont ever find anyone...I have given up looking, because it is always so much better when love just whacks you in the face!!

I definitely think it's better when you find someone without looking! When you have expectations about something, it's a lot easier to be disappointed.

A similar thing happened to me. My DH and I were both long divorced and not looking for anyone. We met on a church scuba diving trip 17 years ago and have been married for 13 years next month.

Take your time...both of you. It will be worth it!! So very happy for you...

Spookwriter, Yes, I sold him some fish........and a year later they are still alive! It was neat getting to go say hi to my babies all grown up. Oh, and your wife sounds like a wise woman.

chickensducks&agoose, I'll have to work on that picture thing. It makes me giggle, but we happened to be standing near a mirror and he gave me a hug and told me to look in the mirror and said "See. We make a good looking couple, don't we?" (I happened to agree.)

Its wonderful hearing all your stories. Thanks for sharing.
