I still don't know which are hens or roosters. New to chicken world!

    Any one know of any good book or website to show a picture of hens vs roosters. I have Rhode Islands, board Rock, Anachonda, and some more more husband picked out but don't know the names. I have 15 in all. Sorry I misspelled their names.

    If you google the chicken names......such as turken chicken. Then you will get links to all kinds of pictures. Hope this helps

    has roos, hens, cockerels, pullets and chicks.
    Rhode Island Red
    Ancona(?)Aracauna(?)
    Barred Rocks
    Rhodies and Rocks were originally bred in New England.
    Anconas were originally Italian, like Leghorns and are very similar in temperment.
    Aracauna is the original EE bird from South America. They usually have beards, muffs and no tails.
    I'm not sure which of the "A" letter breeds you have.

    www.mypetchicken.com also has pictures of both hens and roos on their breed selection tool. Look on the lower left on their main page and you will see a link. They have about 60 breeds featured with good pics of most of them.
