I strongly dislike wild mice *PICS*

I agree.

I always make my hubby skin the snakes we kill. We do lots of western, native american, kind of crafts and snake skin is great to use along with deer hides, fox hides. You can put unruly animals to great use!

We killed a 2 foot rattler 4 days ago in the yard. Never kill kingsnakes though, they eat the venomous snakes.

Sometimes if I find one and it isn't being a threat then yes I will relocate it for sure. I am big on that but when they are eating stuff I raised they have to pay the price.

I used to catch every snake and put it in a shoebox when I was a little girl. I have outgrown that need to do that

now but I love snakes to a certain extent. I think they are pretty and very useful in our world with keeping populations on rodents down but when one is eating your livestock....gotta go.

I respect snakes as one of God's creations and they have their place but when they take the attitude that they are going after one of my birds, IT"S ON!

I worked third shift the other night and our clinic was built right in the middle of a field! Well Dakota went to work with me and he kept going to the door(at three am) so I got up and was going to take him out, but peeking through the door was about a four foot king snake. I stood there and decided it was best Dakota waited till the morning to go to the bathroom, cause if that snake was there then others were out and I was not going to get snake bit! Thank god the doc on duty was not awake he loves snakes and definetly would have brought him in for the heck of it!

We had a HUGE snake problem at my house and I found that by keeping my yard cleared and mowed, they seemed to leave.
But the few that got INTO my house and too close to me or my yard, were killed...
I don't blame you one bit!

I stated in my original post, please do not diss me for killing the snakes who ate my ducklings. No one near me likes having snakes in their yards to get their animals. I encourage snakes anywhere else but my property. SO please, keep comments like this to yourself.

i was personally bothered by the photos. i agree that you have the right to share your story, but there are young children & snake lovers as well on the site & i was very upset by the graphicness of the photos.

Ok, seriously I don't have an issue with the OP killing snakes but this comment hit a nerve. As someone else stated, how would you feel if someone said, "they're just chickens" or some other creature you find enjoyment out of? I don't think you need to insult others to get your point across.

GOAT_WALKWER: I have no problem with the post or your pictures. I don't think the pics are graphic i looked at them as more a help to ID the snakes. I guess I have a little different opinion on animals. I love my chickens and ducks and cats and dogs and horses, but to me animals are not people too. I will always think that humans are better than critters. I in no way condone the mistreatment of animals or just killing an animal for no reason. God gave man dominion over animals. Of course we have the responsibility to be good stewards of what He gave us. Personally I can¡¦t stand snakes, lizards, rats(mice are rats to me), and roaches. I know I may make some people mad but I will kill any of the afore mentioned animals on site. I just can¡¦t help it. Sorry:(. I also respect that other people don¡'t feel that way and they won't like what I think. I didn't mean to upset anybody or get anything started, just stating my opinion.
