i suppose 5 days is too early to candle?/???

if you have brown eggs like I do wait till like day 6 it will look darker then day 3

I know how you feel Kris. Waiting 21 days for a chick is frustrating. I am incubating eggs right now too. We candled yesterday (day 7) and saw stuff. We candled a few at day 5 and it was really hard to see anything. Thank god my incubator is at a friends who lives about 2 miles from me (she and I are incubating a bunch of eggs together) so I don't have the urge to go and candle every few days.

I am her friend with the incubators! Oh PS Kim Sarafina's egg has veins.

Sorry, I grab it thinking it was one of my Cochin eggs I was candling this morning.

Good luck Kris with your hatch and candling. On your dark eggs hold off tossing any of the ones you are questioning. I suggest waiting longer with them before you toss them out. I made a bad call on one of mine I do not want you to do the same thing!
