I've kept bantam cochins for more than a decade now, I have experience.He almost looks too big for the age to be a cochin, maybe he’s a light Brahma. Maybe someone with a little more knowledge will chime in.
@sourland, @drumstick diva, or maybe @Blooie,
I’ll keep that in mind for next time!!I've kept bantam cochins for more than a decade now, I have experience.![]()
Well cochins come in standard size too, so it's either a bantam or a standard, and I'm trusting the OP to be a judge of it's size compared to the rest. Standard Cochin chicks are generally big chicks.S/He just looked so big for a cochin and the first thing that come to mind was light Brahma. That’s why I sent out tags, I figured I was probably wrong!!![]()
Thanks for the tag....I’m not real good at identifying any of them! To determine gender I usually wait until I see one lift his leg on a tree. Only then am I sure that I have a dude chicken!
I do agree with Cochin, though. The two I had were huge compared to what I thought I was getting. There’s no Light Brahma that I can see. By now black and white coloring would be showing in places.
