So I came out to feed, water and do the daily routine. I found one of my hens eye really swollen. I caught her and it started oozing lots of puss. I cleaned the puss off and tried to see where her eyeball was and I couldn’t find it. I just saw pink/red flesh. I don’t know what is safe to do or put in the eye. If you have any suggestions or opinions I would be so happy and greatly appreciate it. I have a video I want to post but don’t know how. If you could please head me in the right direction I could figure it out. Thank you so much in advance. I truly do appreciate it.

This link to my thread might help.
You'll hafta dig & squeeze that pus out from behind that 2nd eyelid, the 2nd eyelid slides side to side not up and down. You need to get some terramycin eye ointment and start your bird on this antibiotic mixed in with its water asap.

This pullet has had an issue with her eyes off & on for over a month. She would walk around foraging with one eye shut for long periods of times, not always the same eye. She wasn't having any swelling in it until the last few days. I've tried eye drops/rinse, don't see any pus in it, just looks like the "pink-eye" like cocker spaniels get. She can't open it anymore due to the swelling, and it was completely crushed shut today. I got some Vetrycin Eye Gel today & applied it in & on the eye. Is there anything else that I can do for her that might help?

I think the eye is still inside and intact just from a faint blink or movement during the video. When an eyelid becomes inflamed med and swollen, it can take a week or so to see if the eye is intact while swelling goes down. There is a lot of pus still afound the eye, and it needs to be squeezed out if possible. Saline eye wash from your local pharmacy or Walmart (about $3) is good to use to flush apout the eye. Then repapply your eye drops or ointment. Terramycin eye ointment from the feed store or plain Neosporin or Triple Antibiotic Ointment are fine to use twice a day. Many times this sort of pink eye with pus is due to a respiratory disease or sometimes a peck or dirt/foreign body in the eye. Looking for that while cleaning the eye would be hood. Here is a video to help:

Ah thank you guys sooo much!! Yay I hope her eye is still in there. If it was due to respiratory would the others have it or will they get it as well? It just showed up out of no where. Ok so I will try to get more puss out of it. And then for the antibiotics do I just order those online? I have some left over Antibiotic eye drops that I never used. do you think that would be ok to use? I also have plain triple antibiotic ointment. And don’t bandage it up or anything? Thank you all so so very much. I appreciate all the help I can get.
