I got a fairy egg 2 nights ago, I’ve been going back and forth on whether to try to hatch it. I know it probably won’t hatch, but I thought it might be a nice little boredom breaker for me and the kids. Here’s my dilemma, I really only want tuxes, and I don’t have anyone in the breeder pen now, so the current eggs are all lineage unknown. I have to put a couple eggs in with it, I’d say 3 at least, so it wouldn’t be alone if it hatched. So I would put 3 big eggs and the fairy, and if the fairy doesn’t hatch as it probably won’t, I would be left with 2 or 3 other chicks. 4 eggs seems ridiculous, should I just fill the incubator and sell the extras as day old straight runs on CL? Hubby says it’s wasteful to heat the whole incubator for 4 eggs haha, actually maybe my son said that, it’s so weird when they start having adult convos. Do you guys find it a hassle to sell on CL? I’m waiting to hear back from the dept of agriculture about out of state selling and what is needed, but the fish and wildlife lady said in state is fine, so I guess no issue there to worry about.
here’s my little fairy egg, I candled it and it seems to have a yolk:
