I am so happy. My chicks are doing so well, getting along fabulously and seem very content.
Is there anything cuter than baby chicks sleeping and passed out?

I have 2 Easter Eggers, 3 Cuckoo Marans and 1 Barred Rock.
To be honest to me the CM chicks look just like the BR chick.

But the BR chick is such a character! She's only a week old but we are enjoying her the most. She is just all over us, so bold and figures stuff out super fast. You put your hand in the brooder and there she is trying to hop on.
I think she's going to be very smart. And very food driven. LOL

I agree they have the best personalities. I only have 2 BR hens in my flock of 14 layers. I ordered two more because I love them so much. They really are characters!!!

We don't have any BRs right now, but they were definitely some of our most personable (chickenable?) chicks, very interested in everything.

They liked to play what I call the "I'm the tallest chicken" game...each standing up on something, stretched way, way up to try to see out of the box. Be prepared for the flyout!

Have fun!

Dear Texas_Chick...

Aren't the baby chicks the best ?? My wife and I have 6 blue and black mottled bantam cochins that will be 7 weeks old tomorrow (and late tomorrow night). From Day One when we had them home this one chick was so affectionate, would demand to be first up on my hands. Then when they got a little older if I wore a long sleeved shirt they would climb up on my arms (the shirt for traction) and eventually walked up my arms and onto my shoulders where they would whisper little peep messages to me. Now that they're older they still crave the attention yet they also really like flying off my arms and onto the nearby bed. And the insistently affectionate chick turned out to be a rooster we named GreyMan...

Texas_Chick my wife and I are so glad you're happy and smiling. Our babies make all our worries and sad moments pass so quickly. Enjoy them while they are preciously tiny, they grow so fast.

Out Best To You

Wow look at those feet!!!

My son named the BR JayJay (the Jet Chicken). So that will work for a rooster or a hen - sort of unisex.
I have another one becoming a little more outgoing, she's second in line to come running and she is a funny looking EE named Muffy.

So sweet though how all of them fall asleep when you hold them in your hand! Mut be some kind of reflex.
Some of them are already getting too big to fit in my hand though!

One of the Marans has bumped the BR from the top spot.
The Marans is just so gentle and sweet. I love her. She sits down right away and enjoys the petting.
Very, very cute!
It's interesting how they all got such different personalities!
