Is it a chicken egg?

In some ways it's way cool. In other ways... very hard and sometimes deadly for the hen.

Usually when I get extra big ones they are double yolkers or more. The largest chicken egg I got was 104 grams. Those were from girls just coming back into lay after brooding or molting. And so was a hiccup of the reproductive system starting up and getting back on track. My usual is around 65 grams.

It’s a chicken egg from an Isa Brown. I am hoping whichever one laid it is ok. But, they all seemed fine this morning. I know one skipped a day the other day, so maybe she’s making up for it?
