I think I was sold something else! What is it?

i have two ameraucanas, one has the muff and one does not. both hens are from the same hatch. she's cute.

I like the way she looks no matter what the breed. I was just wondering because of the lack of muffs and beard. I think based on all of your opinions though she is an EE. She does have those nice green legs and that hawk-like beak.

I do not think the place I bought her was trying to be dishonest; I think they were just confused. When I went back to look at the birds they have again, there was a second pen marked Arucauna with Ameracauna in it. I asked the owner about the lableing and he said that some of the hatcheries he gets them from all call them different names and he just marks as he gets them. That would explain it. Sounds just like you all said.

BTW, I just had to squeeze another bird in with my already too large flock. Here is the "Ameracauna" I bought from him with the muffs and beard. I think she is very pretty. She is a little squirrely and hard to get a picture of, but she is a silvery-grey. I think it is a common color, but I don't care.
