HE OR SHE IS A DUCK....and very much alive

He is 4 days old and you would never know he had such a rough beginning

He is alive because of this forum!!

I do not post often, but read it alot and learned all that I know from here. THe egg was found abandoned in a ditch so I asked about incubating a duck egg and got my answers...then I learned about a duck egg needing more moisture which makes sense since mommy probably swims once a day when she is off the egg and then comes back wet. I had learned from reading about helping a chick out (only if a matter of life and death) so I was able to help him because of sticky mambranes. I learned about the yolk soc still being un absorbed and how to treat that. So because of all of you who faithfully answers the questions to mine and other I say...My hat is off to you. You made one happy grandson!! He named him Daffy...I took your advice aout not naming him LUCKY!!
