I think my button may want to sit!?! O_O

I've been wanting to hatch some eggs from my buttons for a while, just never got around to it...

anyways, Buttons usually just lays randomly around the cage, never really built a nest, or collected eggs..

until a few days ago, we went to petsmart, and I got the Quail a little rodent ball nest thing, make out of wicker, that had fluff in it, and put in in the cage, hoping that Buttons would maybe nest IN it, it was ignored for several days, until I noticed that she'd started to build a nest in the corner of he cage, behind the ball nest thing, she'd pulled fluff and parts of the wicker stuff off the nest thing, and now as of last night, she's got 4 eggs collected in there!

does that mean she'll keep laying until she sits??, I sure hope so!

well, there are now 5 eggs in the nest, I've put alittle more hay around the cage, hopefully she'll build it up more, I know she'd started a "nest" once before, layed 3 eggs in it, then scattered them all over, I'm thinking they're abit more comfortable now that all those huge honking chicks arn't in the chick room anymore, just little babies.

they deffenately vocalize more,I only bother them every few days to feed and water.

You never know. One of mine builds a nest about every 2months, rolls all the eggs in it, sits on them for a week or so, and then gives up. I clean out the now dead and sometimes rotten eggs and she does it again after a couple more weeks.

well, it seems the pair like to sleep on the nest at night?

maybe they've just made a comfy bed?? LMAO

even if she just sits a few days, that'd give them a head start so if she did get off them, not that long in the bator!!
