I think my duck broke her leg

She can move some but not that much. I'm going to try to find something larger but I don't know how successful I will be. Thank you for telling me about the stores boxes, I'll see what I can do. I have four girls, counting the duck with the broken leg, and four boys, but I have found a home for two of the boys and I hope they will leave soon.
Hopefully you can find something larger, and yes especially this time of year the ducks can get injured or just plain over mated if the ratio is out of balance. Getting 2 of the drakes rehomed is a great idea. Keep us updated on how she is doing.

I'm not very good at describing things so here is a picture:
Looks like she has room to turn around if she needs to adjust herself. is she able to keep her leg in proper position? in other words it's not hanging off in an abnormal way? I'd still try and find something larger so she'll have more room as she heals. if she lays in one place long with out some exercise her legs will get very weak. But right now she just needs rest.

Lollipop sticks and vetwrap bandage and lots of rest! I rescued a mallard youngster with a broken leg and she's gone on to a normal life and all she has to show for it is a slightly inturned foot! She's hatched us 3 ducklings for the flock and is a little bundle of mischief! :)

She keeps her leg tucked up against her body like she would if her leg was cold. Right now she is just resting but she's getting restless. That sounds like it doesn't make sense... What I mean is she is still sitting down and isn't trying to move but she is quacking a lot more and when I get too close too her she tries to leap away sooner. That is why I try not too go near her too often.

I don't think we have any lollipop sticks or vetwrap. I suppose I could get them but I don't know how to make a cast or whatever with them anyway.

And depending on where the break is you may not even be able to wrap it. I wish you could examine her leg so you could actually see where the break is. You may have to wrap her in a towel and either hold her and let your sister examine her leg or her hold and you do it. But for now I'd just let her rest, and of course she's going to be vocal if the other ducks are close by.

I'll talk to my sister and see if I can persuade her.
I know she will be vocal but this morning she was pretty quiet.

The "I know she will be vocal" part referring to the duck not my sister, although my sister might be pretty vocal too...

If it is on the long bone, as long as it isn't an open fracture (which will needs to be kept clean and dressings changed daily, still fixable just more difficult) you should be able to make a splint from just for example a lollipop stick along either side of her leg, to keep her leg straight. Make sure it doesn't stick into her foot or her tummy though as you could cause rubbing. You would need someone to hold her though. Bandages are cheap enough. If you can keep her dry you could just use light bandage and pink Elastoplast. I'll try and find my pictures of Peggy for you. She may have dislocated/broken it higher up if it doesn't seem immediately obvious to you. Sorry for banging on! Try to get a good look first before you do anything. Stick a couple of pics up if you're struggling to get her to a vet, someone on here might have some ideas! Just keep her quiet and rested overnight, she shouldn't want to move to much being on her own.
