I think my duck broke her leg

The "I know she will be vocal" part referring to the duck not my sister, although my sister might be pretty vocal too...

If it is on the long bone, as long as it isn't an open fracture (which will needs to be kept clean and dressings changed daily, still fixable just more difficult) you should be able to make a splint from just for example a lollipop stick along either side of her leg, to keep her leg straight. Make sure it doesn't stick into her foot or her tummy though as you could cause rubbing. You would need someone to hold her though. Bandages are cheap enough. If you can keep her dry you could just use light bandage and pink Elastoplast. I'll try and find my pictures of Peggy for you. She may have dislocated/broken it higher up if it doesn't seem immediately obvious to you. Sorry for banging on! Try to get a good look first before you do anything. Stick a couple of pics up if you're struggling to get her to a vet, someone on here might have some ideas! Just keep her quiet and rested overnight, she shouldn't want to move to much being on her own.
I had a game hen that broke her leg a couple years ago, of course she had two little chicks to take care of and I was freaking out thinking what can I do to help her, first I took her chicks away and gave them to the hen next door for safe keeping then I used plain vet wrap her leg was broke on the long bone so I just wrapped it in the vet wrap making sure it wasn't too tight to cut off circulation and she did amazing. especially after I gave her back her babies. After I took the vet wrap off you could see just a little where the bone didn't grow back perfect but she didn't even have a limp. Hopefully Rouen Ducks duck will be that simple.

Hopefully!
So I took her down to the creek too have a bath and it was easier than I thought because she didn't flap or struggle too much. However, she got cold and started to shiver, so I took her back up to the coop and turned on the heat lamp, and changed her old water for clean warm water. She seemed too be a little bit more happy for it. The new dry rags might have helped!
When she was in the water she tried too scratch her head with her bad leg, and her leg moved a little bit but couldn't reach her head. Persuading my sister isn't going very well because she doesn't want to hurt the duck anymore and neither do I, plus I'm not very good at arguing. But I'll manage, even if I have to bribe her with chocolate cookies!

I will use warm water from now on. Does it have to be deep enough so that she can float?

I would stick to lukewarm baths for now. Creek water sounds pretty cold, and I don't think that will help the healing process. Just my feeling.
X2, anytime someone is recovering they need warmth more than cold.

I hope your sister will help you figure out where the break is because the longer it's not set right could mean she may never be able to walk again. If she was able to use her leg a tiny bit means at least the brake must not be up close to the body. I'd gather supplies first then when you do pick her up to look at the leg hopefully you can take care of the brake at the same time and not have to stress her as much. Vet wrap maybe all you need. but when putting it on you have to be very careful not to wrap too tight to keep from cutting off circulation. Is there not an adult that can help ya'll?
