I have a BO chick that is about 4 and a half weeks old. It was sexed a pullet, however I know there is always a chance of getting a roo. This is my very first time with chickens, but my suspicions are rising that it is a lil roo. The comb is very pink and it is beginning to develop pink waddles (the pic below is of he/she). I have read that BO chickens grow quickly, but I have also read that the comb and waddles don't turn red on a pullet until she is getting ready to lay. The comb is by far darker and deeper in color than any of my other girls. I can't have a rooster where I live, so I will have to rehome; the feed store I got it from will take a roo back, but I would love to find him a nice flock if he is indeed a he. lol What do ya'll think? Cockrel, pullet, too early to tell still and I could have an early bloomer? I know I should know more by 3 mo based on saddle feathers, but I'd like to find it a home before it crows if it is a cockrel as I have a neighbor that complains about any and all noise. Any advice would be great! Thanks!
Buffy the Bug Slayer...or maybe it's just Buff lol
I hate that my toilet is in the pic, but oh well. They are in a 55gal tub in my tub and I don't have a run completed yet to protect them from the dogs! Should have it done this week!
