So I ended up with 4 cockrels from the chicks I got in Aug. They are now 10 weeks old. I'm waiting on them to crow, but have only heard one pitiful attempt so far:gigAnyhow, I thought the 4 of them were BR but I just noticed one has pink/white legs. Not sure how I missed that over weeks of trying to figure out who the 2nd Cuckoo Marans was. Today is also the first time I offered them time to free range, so I'll blame it on the lighting and my old age. Can folks just confirm for me?

Here is one of the BR boys. All sweeties, handsome, very light colored, curly little tail feathers

Here is the suspected CM. He's a bit darker, handsome, straighter tail feathers, and a real brat. He chases the others and I've caught him pecking at them. However, he was also the first one to venture outside today and has spent more time out than the rest of them, although he is apparently terrified of the wind... :idunno Either way, with that personality he's already got a ticket for the first bus to freezer camp.

Here is one of all 4 of them together, just because I actually got one lol

Thanks!

I now find one if the cockrels roosting with my 2y old Bielfelder most nights - she has no idea the future implications of his attraction to her...
