    I'm not sure it's okay.

I made some oatmeal scotchies (oatmeal/butterscotch chips) cookies and neither DH or I liked them.

I want to give the remainder, 6 cookies, to the chooks. I've never really given them sugary foods before.

    Is it okay?

I have successfully given non-iced homemade cupcakes to our chickens- they were all crumbly is why.

If it were me, I'd do it. I'd just break them up into pieces and throw them out in a wide arc so no little piggy gets the whole thing.

Well the adult birds enjoyed them. I had to make sure Thor got a bite or two since the girls kept stealing every morsel I gave him. I saved a single cookie for the juveniles, but they weren't thrilled. Spoiled little brats.

If I have leftover cookies, I give them. . . I find it perfectly okay if they're divided well enough between birds that the individual doesn't eat very much. That way, they take in as much sugar and fat as they would in a normal treat such as corn.
