I want to take my duck to a pond to socialize with other ducks, but is it allowed?

I would like to take my duck to a local pond where other wild ducks thrive. Since she was a gosling, she has had no contact with another duck. We spend nearly all of our time together, and we've created a strong bond. I believe I have satiated her needs to have a companion, but I would still like her to meet other ducks. I have customized a leash to make sure she doesn't get any ideas, and that people know that that beautiful domesticated duck is in fact owned. Problem is, I know that it is unlawful to abandon a domesticated duck, and that the majority of ducks at these parks were once tamed. I don't want people to believe that I'm abandoning my girl there and start garnering unwanted attention.

So, if my intention is to simply let her play in the local park's water for a little bit, then to bring her back home with me, would I have a problem with the authorities?

I would think if you can call her back to you on demand, you might be ok. From my own experience, when wild ducks visit my pond, my own ducks leave the water and go hide! Introducing a duck to a flock usually takes time. It may be best to just get her another duck friend. Good luck!

I use to take my first pet Muscovy Mali everywhere with me. We would take her to the park when we are jogging and she would fly around us or near us always keeping us in her line of sight. Her first sight of a wild animal didn't go too well. (It was a Canadian Goose). She walked up to it wagging her tail and bobbing her head like all Muscovy ducks do, the goose didn't seem to be bothered. Until Mali decided to take off flying right next to it. I'm guessing the goose got scared and mad? But it started trying to attack Mali. We quickly intervened to break it up. After that we always kept Mali on a leash.
Maybe it may go good for you?
Also people near me kept thinking and asking me if I took her from the wild or am I catching her. Where I live , people don't consider ducks as common pets.
I once had a person call the police on me because they thought I was catching wild ducks. I had to show the police officer my vet bills as proof!

Nope, nope, nope..... tons of potential negastives and no potrntiasl positives.....for your duck or the others
