I would like to take my duck to a local pond where other wild ducks thrive. Since she was a gosling, she has had no contact with another duck. We spend nearly all of our time together, and we've created a strong bond. I believe I have satiated her needs to have a companion, but I would still like her to meet other ducks. I have customized a leash to make sure she doesn't get any ideas, and that people know that that beautiful domesticated duck is in fact owned. Problem is, I know that it is unlawful to abandon a domesticated duck, and that the majority of ducks at these parks were once tamed. I don't want people to believe that I'm abandoning my girl there and start garnering unwanted attention.
So, if my intention is to simply let her play in the local park's water for a little bit, then to bring her back home with me, would I have a problem with the authorities?
