I loved my leghorn rooster. he was a perfect gentleman. OK once or twice he took to attacking my legs when I went in the barn...I Either GENTLY put a foot under him and moved him across the barn with attitude...GENTLY do not kick! Just move him out of the way a couple of times or GENTLY Put a foot on him with enough pressure to hold him down. Roosters have great respect for the larger boss. By using one of these 2 methods I have managed to tame the orneriest roosters. Also keep picking him up and petting and giving him special foods. My roosters keep my girls from pecking each other and keep them happy in "other" ways as well as giving me the chance for chicks!...my neighbors don't mind the crowing..but I have found that shutting all the chickens up at night in the dark ...keeps them from crowing all night~
