I was born in the wrong era...

Well you wouldn't have HAD to wear a dress. But then again look at the reputation Calamity Jane has now.

lol true! haha!

I wouldn't have wanted to be a woman in the 1800's. Women were almost like indentured servants back then. They were just used as breeding machines and keeping the house. No rights, no nuthin. No BC.

I like all the technical innovations. I'm glad I was born in 58. Just the advances in medicine are fantastic. Could you imagine what it was like to get any kind of injury in the 1800's. People had 8 or 10 kids and usually lost 1 or 2 to diseases that we have long since gotten rid of. Wives died during child birth on a regular basis. Tooth decay was a big problem and pulling them was the option.

It would be fun to visit as long as my time machine was within walking distance.

I would miss my power tools too.

I am quite certain what would have happened if I lived in the 1800s! I would not have lived for LONG!!

The number of times modern medicine has kept me alive! Just think about the number of people you know who have had strep throat. Many many people used to die of that. I have had infections galore and a heart attack during labor that surely would have killed me if I had been laboring with a neighbor lady in my cabin.

I have WHAT in my yard? :

I don't think it'd have been a medicine thing... more likely my big mouth and less than "proper" opinions woulda gotten me in deep doodoo. Not that they don't today, but the worst I get is a GTH look... not a beheading.

I would definitely been burned at the stake. Who needs a woman who thinks and has opinions? Just ask Joe Bryant!

I quite like modern medicine. Chances are at least half of us wouldn't have survived early childhood without it, and another half of us would be dead by 40 or 50 without it.

Now, those statistics are pulled out of thin air, but you get my point, I think...

I also much prefer being able to have plenty of DRUGS available during childbirth. Once WITH drugs was enough. Without? I think I'd jump off a cliff first...
