I was just thinking, last year I was given some chicken fabric and I used in the trades we had going back then. I'm still contemplating what to do here. I picked up a quilting magazine with patterns and instructions last night.

Welp, I was in Wal-mart today and it was so jammed that I didn't want to have to walk to the back of the store where the material is. I left. Maybe I'll see it next week. Man, everybody and their uncle was out today. I think a good many of them must have been snowed in for the last couple of days with all the snow we got.

i used some of it to make aprons and a curtain so far. i have 2 more quilts to do for my dh and son then i fineally can use the rest of the chicken fab i got from ya to do a quilt for me and hopefully another apron too. i love the different fabs i got from u and will use all that u sent soon as i have time to finish my projects.

i forgot to take pics back then but here is an apron i made from a piece of one of them not long ago and i sent it in as part of the christmas swap here with some other things. sorry it is not the best pic to show the whole thing opened up.

Hhhmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!

Is that 1 yard piece of fabric a "cheater" quilt block? or is it a pattern that repeats?

If it's a "cheater" I'm thinking...........a BIG Log Cabin block. Cut the other fabrics into strips and go around and around and around the middle block.

Here's a block I made from the chicken strip for one of the swaps awhile back. I did a little fussy cut with the strip and used the egg stipes for the corners.
The points were a fried egg fabric, but you could do something else.

What about a fussy cut block alternated with a solid block and a block of the other chicken print and apple print.
You might used colored pencils and a block grid to give you a visual idea....

I don't know what a fussy cut is,, is the only fussy I'm familiar with is feline urinary syndrome... but that fabric is the same one I have! The one that is one yard has a border on one end and the upper part is reddish with dark stenciled type of chickens on it. I don't know what you mean by cheater,, Ok I admit it, I don't know much about squat when it comes to this darn it!
