I used to think these were lovely brown eggs...

My FBCM is showing me how WRONG I was!!

The larger light brown egg is from my 2 year old golden sex link. She is amazing, lays beautiful jumbo eggs on the regular and barely skips a day.
The darker eggs are a new addition from my French Black Copper Marans pullet who is about 26-28 weeks now.

Those are lovely brown eggs, but the others are also lovely dark brown eggs.

The reason the other hen is laying good,large light brown eggs is because she is a red sexlink,she was bred to do so.

Those eggs are truly colorful and beautiful! Tasty looking too! I sure hope my Black Copper marans eggs are as beautiful as yours! I have some of them that are 16 weeks and hoping they will lay soon!

at what age did your BCM start laying?? I have 5 marans should be laying by end of May hopefully.
