I thought the same thing...but chose to keep it to myself. Your Mom never gave you the "If you have nothing good to say..." speech did she.

You just did say it.

It is a valid question, I think there's more to the situation and we just don't know it yet.

(and whacking people is not nice, just because you disagree)

That's what I was thinking. I guess the best solution would be to only sell eggs from hens who are living separately from the breeding flock.

NO NO NO all you nice people. LOL

It's what CoopCrazy said. I don't want them to have my line. I need my roo because I want to hatch more myself and I only have one place for them all. Other wise I would move some so they were not with the roo'

All a PA Certified and Licensed Poultry Technician is is someone who can come to your home and take blood from your birds, send it in to the lab.

I think that was Koolducks mom smacking her. LOl

Maybe wash the eggs & wash 'em good? Then refridgerate them. That may cut down on hatchability pretty good.

Edited: are there really that many cookoo customers who would LIE about what they intend to do with the eggs? Even so, if htye were to hatch from your line, they would get no additional value from it. They couldn't (repercussion-free) sell those chicks at a premium and say, "From XX's birds!"

My two cents. I only have roos for Delawares and CM's so If I was concerned I would make sure to only give them mutt eggs. My CM's are separate and easy enought to avoid selling. My Del roo at this time is in with Dels , Aus, BO, Dom, GLW, and SLW's. And then only after they've been refrigerated for two or three days. I usually never sell "day of" eggs anyhow.
I have given and sold Del chicks cause I want to promote the breed. Many others are easy to get.
I only sell to people who I know want the eggs to eat.

Ya know that's not a bad Idea, just giv'em a good shake. That ought to do it.

But what if their children want dippy eggs for breakfast?
