Thank you for your answer, I guess I'll only sell to people who I know will not hatch them.

I wonder if you could break the air sac with out busting the yolk??? Just a thought..

LOL! She did give me the speech, it just didn't take.... partly cuz mom always spoke the first thing that came to her mind as well! I meant no offense, just thought it was funny!

One good way would be as someone already said, keep then for 2 weeks before selling.

A sure-fire way would be to ship them to yourself via the mail and mark it DO NOT X-RAY. That method has about a 98% success rate.

NO NO NO all you nice people. LOL

It's what CoopCrazy said. I don't want them to have my line. I need my roo because I want to hatch more myself and I only have one place for them all. Other wise I would move some so they were not with the roo'

All a PA Certified and Licensed Poultry Technician is is someone who can come to your home and take blood from your birds, send it in to the lab.

I think that was Koolducks mom smacking her. LOl

I meant no offense with my comment about being LPT. Wish I had that kind of training.

I'm inclined to think that shaking / scrambling the egg would be most effective. I would have concern about either heating or freezing as it could greatly reduce the shelf life of the egg by partially cooking it or by possibly opening frost cracks in the shell. I wonder if you could only distribute the extra eggs to people you could trust not to incubate them.

A certified senior auto technician can probably fix your car and change out any part you want, but they won't always know how the part is designed or necessarily how it works.

That said, the hatchability of a good fertile egg is a function of storage temp and time. I would NOT recommend heating as that would cause some, albeit a little, growth of the embryo during the optimal growth temperature which may cause a visual difference on the yolk that is undesirable.

Refrigerated eggs at normal 38-40F refrigerator temperatures can still hatch a week later. Eggs held at optimal 55-60 with 100% humidity can last nearly 3 weeks. Eggs held at 0F for 30 minutes can still hatch although the incidence of deformities greatly rises. What I would do is hold the eggs just at freezing, say 32F, for a full week. They will not freeze because of the proteins in the eggs, but this should cause enough damage to the blastocyst to prevent development. There is a book that I think is called The avian embryo or something similar that is published in the 70's or so. It is a book that was largely published for the purpose of laboratory research. There is a chart in there with storage times, temps, and resulting hatchibility/ defects that formed at each condition.

Well....last time I try to defend anyone here! That just sounded really nasty to me and since I didn't know what a PA cert etc...did, I thought I'd point out the tone.

Now I"m sorry, I thought you were talking about your mom saying if you can't say anything nice don't say anything and she would

you. I guess I read things wrong so if I offend you I'm sorry.

This is your answer clean them , then with a paper towel wipe them with veg oil or olive oil.
Coat them lightly let set over night then wipe again to remove oil . The oil will clog the pores making them unhatchable.
This is what the fish and game is doing to the geese to control there hatching in Arkansas.
