I will not go to tractor supply.

I succeed tonight.. I looked but didn’t buy any chicks... had to pick up a second heat lamp for the coop brooder...
I have chicks in the brooder so I don't want more😂 they're bantams too and I'm afraid to stick them with the standard chicks.

Bad enough I can barely handle them because they're so squirmy and small.

I bought four a week ago one hatched Saturday. They are currently in a small brooder in the house. Getting ready to move them later this week to the brooder in my coop. I have five eggs going on lockdown tomorrow.. so yep that helped me not buy more... lol
I have 20+ ducks hatching but they aren't mine. I have 10 chicken eggs though. They're on day 8. I should probably candle them 😂 I've been so wrapped up in other things that I haven't checked them yet. I'm hoping they're 10 chicks developing.

Have y'all had good experiences with tractor supply? Some say that they get all mixed up, some say they don't sex chicks well. Thoughts?
We've dealt with both issues, at both our TSC and the local feed mill. Still, that's sometimes the best part of the chicken adventure ... the surprise! Still, if you know what you're doing and approach it properly, you can take advantage of the teachable moment and spread some knowledge ... or at least some positive energy!
Oh - and we also need to remember that the store employees don't sex the chicks/duckling/poults. The "experts" at the hatcheries do that and then send them along to the store. Once the babies are in-house, they're mostly kept in open bins ... and we all know what escape artists the little buggers can be. Who knows which bin they'll end up in!
