I would NOT want to faint in a chicken coop!

I can't wear flip flops. They think my toes are worms. I have pretty nice girls, they all fly up on my back when I clean the coop.

I have some ugly dollar store crocs which are my coop shoes. The toe area is solid except for 3 small low vents which they evidently don't see. They work fine.

Crocs aren't good either! I have a black pair and they have the holes in them and mine peck at my feet thru the holes!

My chickens peck through the holes in the crocs as well, specially if I have painted toenails. They are sneaky and don't miss a thing.

I dont have a problem with toes I have gone out barefoot before and they leave my toes alone. Mine is my tattoo on my ankle or any sores. I had one last summer that was sitting on my lap give me a peck on my tooth when I smiled. That one hurt.

I got a great pair of waterproof boots (double duty for winter) from the Animal Rescue Site store http://www.theanimalrescuesite.com/clickToGive/home.faces?siteId=3 that have paw prints on them. They are tough and even the chickens can't peck or pinch through them.

Crocs and socks?

I've been known to wear Birkenstocks (the sandals they want to eat) and socks, as I'm a hippie who completely lacks a sense of style.

Good point on the holes in the Crocs - back to the drawing board! I'd wear my husband's work boots, except his feet are huge, and he probably wouldn't appreciate it very much. I'll have to hit Wal-Mart and get some cheapo knockoff Keds that I can get poop-covered without caring.

I have my big rubber boots that I wear just because it's what I have for the barn. But they sell cute little rubber shoes, not Crocs, but actual gardening shoes that I would buy if I needed some. Slip on and off, wash with the hose, protect from pecking chickens. And...fashionable. (well maybe only to me!)

My husband knows that if I ever want to "get rid of him" I'll just knock him out in the coop and pour frozen corn all over him. There won't be anything left after about 90 seconds.

Don't have rubberbands on your wrist when in the coop. Mine like to grab that and try to run with it on my wrist, they end up letting go and snapping me! lol
