IA here

On my way out of town in 1/2 an hour. All are well and eating and drinking... they learn fast from the older chicks!
Because these are large fowl, they are already bigger than my 4 day old bantam chicks!

Yay for the chicks coming! At first I thought they had a blue sheen, then I realized it's just the blue marking on their head lol...I must still be tired.

Got home about 2:00 this afternoon. All are well and eating, drinking, and of course pooing like mad! They are such good friends with my chicks... I don't know how we could possibly separate them!

I can if you'd like! Probably not til tomorrow, will be busy today.

Sadly it looks like two of the Blues may not make it. Have done everything I can. Good and Greater powers sometimes want the small and meek back because they need a bit more work or a tuneup.
I did put some hay in this am to get some good bacteria in their systems and promote strength. Peat moss is another good thing to add to chicks so they can eat the dirt and get some good bacteria as well. Don't think I have any but can p/u a bag. One prob with that is, it's so dusty! I made the mistake of using it in my house once and am still cleaning up the dust!
They are eating and drinking like mad! I use water with "Poultry Drench", added for the first week or so. This is the best way overcome crooked or curled toes which is usually caused by a vitamin deficiency. I haven't noticed any bad feet, just using it as a preventative measure.
If the weak ones do leave us, I can always add to the order from Ideal to compensate. Privett is good about refunding for any loss incurred within a few days after arrival.
