mrandmrschicken,
The bantams have been successfully integrated in with our big girls. Everyone seems to be doing just fine. One of the bantam Delaware's seems to really have an attitude, though! She ready to take everyone on! lol She's a little fiesty one.

I'm glad to hear all are doing well and too fiesty! You may have some good broodies too if they see some eggs to sit on!

I decided to sell my stock of GLW's. I just have too many projects going and not enough breeding pens. I have a 1 year old adult pair and a juvenile trio. You can buy all of them, the pair or the trio, but I won't split them. $10 for the pair, $15 for the trio or $20 for all.

Maybe someone can offer some advice....
Our 4 yr old EE, (from our very first chick order) has suffered either a broken egg, or a prolapse. I can see part of her vent hanging down. She is still eating and moving around so I want to let nature take it's course. I have moved her to a quiet pen to rest and will monitor her but is there something I could give her?

For prolapse, most things I have read for it is to either push it back in or cull the bird. If you do try to push them in make sure you wear a glove or have clean hands. If it's swollen put some preperation H to make the swelling go down.
If the egg broke inside of her, I would worry about cutting and infections.

At this time, she is still eating and pecking around, slowly, I did not do a close up exam. Her etire vent is not extended, rather a small piece of flesh and dirty with a runny poo. She seems most interested in scratch grains so I'll continue to make them available to her.

Steph, I did put a Chubby egg under a broody to see what if anything will develop. She's been in with the Orloff roo for quite sometime so that should be interesting! Where's my mail???

Eric,
Geez, drove right by your house today but didn't have the chicken kennel with me.....could kick myself. I will get that back to you one of these days! Football for two boys right now makes it nearly impossible to do anything else other than the basics.

Did you come down for homecoming? The old Milford v SL game? It was a disaster for Milford. You could have parked in the driveway, anytime. Noahs' football games give him only two at home. I think that is highly unfair and it agitates me. Been that way for 3 yrs. now. Think I'll send an email and "heads will roll"! LOL like that would happen or do any good!
Had 8 bantam Orloffs hatch and 5 Buttercups over the last 2 days. It's all over now. One of the Orloffs never made it out of the shell and the one Serama never hatched either.
