I do not know what it is:( i feel soo left out!

HELP !!! I need some more chickens.. I am looking for some more laying hens or pulets. I got a new customer today who wants 5 doz. eggs a week. I am going out to Ericks tomorow to pick up my babys. yippi Any one want to go along just let me know..

I have got to install a light in my hen house, I like to hide behind my skirt and have my hubby do all that stuff. It is just to hard to get him off of the couch so I guess that leaves me.

thanks for reminding me Lisa - need to go put up my light also. Wish I had some hens for you but am down to a total of 13 birds now and 2 of those are roosters.

Egg production is down due to the short days.

Can't wait to get those Iowa Blues!!!!!

ETA: I sent you a PM Lisa, I wouldn't want you to feel left out.

I only have bantams left for layers that I would cull.

My hubby installed a solar light on one of my coops. Works great!

can you turn the solar light on and off? I haven't put my light out there yet because I have to run two extension cords to get electric out there. My husband trenched in some conduit last year for wiring but never got it finished

Yes, there's a switch right on the lamp part. A thin wire goes to the Solar panel. We just drilled a little hole in the wall for the cord. Then all he had to do was mount the solar panel to the outside and the lamp to the inside.

How long did it take you to go to the Hy-Vee and mail me a ?? ? Hmm. That pretty Serama girl could have layed six dozen eggs by then!
Honestly, I think it would be funner to see what she and Whitey and her pretty crele hubby come up with! You are certainly welcome to some chicks!

Maybe but I doubt by Iowa City. That would be pushing it. But, you never know. I MIGHT GET MY MAIL BY THEN! It didn't come today.
Got a box that was mailed from Tennessee (sp) 2 days ago this am. Now that was fast for the USPS!

Steph; Would you be terribly offended if Chubby Bubby went home with Lisa? She was looking for another good layer and I thought Chubby could use some big friends. Honestly, if you would truly not be offended, I could use the room. (I did put a Chubby X bantam Orloff egg under the, Bearded Circus Lady, who is seriously broody). That will be fun to see a Chubby, bantam Orloff cross! I might try and do a couple of those eggs. You might even like one!

One more thing Steph, if you're set up for chicks, I bet Lisa would not mind bringing yours back with her tomorrow, that is the IA Blues you would like, unless you prefer to wait. I know she lives a lot closer to you than me! And... if your really nice, I would throw in the Whitey X Pyncheon chick I have... it's a super duper docile little cutie! How's that sound?

Trish................

Do please tell me how your bantam Maran project went, or is going. I have had my ear to the ground looking for some bantam Marans. I was told in WI that somone was working on Cuckoo Maran bantams but I don't know anything for sure.
Were yours able to lay the super dark eggs? My Orloff pullets lay really dark eggs but I think those will fade with time to a tint like their Mom lays.

It would take me no time to set up for chicks. If she wants Chubby - she can have her, I'm good with that. I understand making room. Just want the Iowa Blue chicks, I would end up selling the cross bred chick

So sure Lisa - if you want to stop by here, I can get my chicks from you. Otherwise I can wait for them.

I thought for sure the mail would come today but since it was later in the evening when I went to Hy-vee it probably didn't go out until yesterday. Crud that means the ice cream I mailed you is gonna melt!

Let me know what is in the plans - I need to take a sub job if possible tomorrow, so would be home around 3:30 - 4 pm.
