Lisa, glad you made it home. Steph and I were getting worried! I should have told you that Poofy is a lover. She likes to have lots of attention and will come up to you and beg for a treat but by all means don't get betwixt her and her cookie or she'll rip your throat out! Chubby will eat anything! Any scrap you have, she will devour with zest. The mostest favorititest treat for both is bread. Poofy does not like toast so much but Chubber will eat the bag too! And if Poofy sees an egg, she will probably sit on it! She goes broody faster than you can blow out a candle! They both need some oyster shell added to their feed. It cooled down and all the girls were laying well, then warmed up and it slowed down. They need their calcium back.
Good luck with the hatching eggs I usually have a 99% hatch rate with the Buttercups.
Got an early start today with boxing up birds for the road. Show starting tomorrow. My son David and I are leaving at noon for the trek up North since I will be offering p/t tests, I need to set up early. Glad Dave is in the TAG class so there is no fear of him missing any school, however he has not decided if he likes the current book he is SUPPOSED to be reading, cause his Mom help him pick it out. Sheesh!
I found one of my little Orloff chicks that was inside with a bad eye. The chick seems to be okay but I don't know if it's eye will make it. Must have gotten a good wallop from another bird.
Probably the best way to treat is with triple antibiotic ointment.
Lisa, I f i have some more chicks like the Buckeyes by IA City, would you be interested in some? I'll stay in touch with the laptop over the weekend.
Eric
