I sure hope she pulls through. Is she still trying to be a mom too? Usually, warm, quiet, darker areas so they can stay quieter and rest. I put the sick ones in the basement in a pet taxi. If I can suggest, try and make a mash of chick feed, olive oil, honey or molasses all mixed up. Not too much sweet but enough to perk them up.
If you're bringing them out of it, you're doing the right stuff. Cold and damp is hard on them especially if they are worn down from being broody.
I did not know you had a tooth ache. Hope it goes well. Is this gonna be a crown or pull job?
So far Tank is the only one I have lost to this although I was reading in chicks it cuases their growth to stunt and they are not "thrifty". Makes me wonder about that Iowa Blue that died. He showed no other symptoms though. P is still eating and driking, just run down. The babies still hang out by her but she isn't trying to mother them amymore. They have heat in the garage (heat lamp)
The tooth broke last year. I am opting for a root canal/crown on the tooth but we don't have dental at this point. Hubby is supposed to get it lined up at work so now he wants me to wait until January to have the work done. I don't think he has ever had a tooth-ache. It was abcessed and the nerve is dying and exposed to air.
I am getting very cranky. Thank goodness the dentist gave me a prescription for percocet. I am not normally a pill taker but it is the only way I can get any sleep.
