lol The chicken bug has hit here for sure.

Our drive out to Shelby was really nice. It was neat to meet mothergoose and get those adorable minature silverappleyards. We also ended up with three muscovies. We then went on to my husbands grandmothers farm which was only a 15 minute drive from her house. It was a great Easter weekend. I will post pictures of the ducklings when I download them.

I'm hoping to be in Maquoketa. My son has two soccer games and pictures that day.

Will have to wait for May. I'll have company in town. Having some sick chicken issues anyway, so is just as well. Had to cull one Sunday (went horribly, very sad) but also hatched one! Was my first hatch, new bator/eggs already started, many temp fluctuations, so I was thrilled with even one out of eight! Made the day better considering my loss (the cull).

Had some more chicks hatch today

I love hatching chicks. Went to Premier and got our official scrapie tags for the goat kids we are bringing to sale at Maquoketa. It should be lots of fun. I wonder how many people will be there and what all will be for sale. The only thing I am not looking forward to is waking up so early in the morning to drive up there.

I'm hoping to make it to Maquoketa. Waverly maybe some day. They are calling for rain on saturday. I hope it holds off until afternoon.

I'm so excited!! I got my email saying Holderreads has shipped my shetland goslings. They should be here tomorrow.

I have a guy coming to buy a bunch of my chickens. He said he needed them by saturday. I just bet they will end up at the Swap Meet. Oh well. Less mouths to feed.

Clay - I've used both F&F in Davenport and Thiesen's in DeWitt and Tipton... I don't have any expectations, and between the two I've been able to get what I've needed. Would love to know if there are other places, though!
