Clay,
Have you tried mail order? I ordered from Jefferslivestock.com , they have great prices and a wonderful selection.

I made some feeders and waterers for next to nothing. They aren't pretty, but they do the job well!

Good luck.

Theison's in Cedar Rapids has good stuff. TSC in CR is good, that may be the closest for you. It's on the outskirts of town too, kind of close to Prarie Schools on 6th st.

Best,
Trish

Thanks Trish,

Mail order is my friend...

Orschelns in Washington and Muscatine stinks too. We only go there in emergencies. Sometimes we go to Blains in Muscatine or Farm King in Burlington. I also like a couple of the Kalona feed stores to get our sheep feed at one and the chicken feed at the other one. Orschelns in Mt. Pleasant is pretty good or at least it was the last time we were there.

Only a few days until the swap

I can't wait! I'm getting my Buttercup rooster

And I think some hatching eggs. And then maybe whatever else I see there and bring home. LOL

Today is going to be really nice. Going to be outside most of the day.

Cassie it was great to see you again. How did you guys do at the swap? I left shortly after 8 to make it to my sons soccer game. We came home with three hamsters.

Trish it was nice to meet you. Let me know how the eggs hatch. I have some of them that are to hatch on wednesday. Though the cat tipped the incubator(she wasn't even suppose to be upstairs). So I hope they will ok. My kids are enjoying your friends hamsters. I do so much better at not bringing animals home when my children are not with me. lol

Well I was hoping to find a male grey call duck. No such luck. I do think they had a nice turn out for being the first one. I loved the driving distance for me. Only 40 minutes.

It was great meeting you also, Chanin! The eggs look beautiful! Thanks for bringing them to me, I appreciate it! Wish I could have talked to you more, things got hectic as soon as I unloaded the hammies. I'm so glad I had my husband, Cathy (wyanluv), Steve (Cathy's husband) there to help. And Cathy's youngest helped sell hammies too.

I sold all of the chickens I brought to the swap. Good day!

It was a very successful swap. They did a great job at advertising it. I'll definately go again.

Cassie, it was great meeting you also! I didn't get a chance to chat either. Maybe next Burlington swap!

We sold all of our female goats and a male, some ducks, a guinea, and misc. items. It was nice to see you all there also, Chanin and Trish. Thanks Trish and Cathy for bringing the Buttercup roo for me. Sorry I didn't really get to talk to you. You were so busy and then I got busy with everyone wanting to look at and pet the goats that I never got a chance to get back over there to chat. Hope to see you all at Burlington.

I brought home a few ducklings, some hatching eggs, a couple chickens, and a Royal Palm Tom we picked up after the swap

It was a pretty good day esp. with it being the first swap and all. I know a few people were mad because they thought there would be Macaws and Parrots and stuff like that for sale there when they saw it advertised as an Exotic Swap but maybe it will get more popular and then people will bring stuff like that also.

It was nice to see you again Cassie, sorry Chanin I don't really remember meeting you. I think you stopped by while I was out and about looking at the critters. It was a lovely morning for a swap, wish tomorrow to be the same way at Waverly.
