Thanks for the info. I am sure we will stay the night before rather than drive so early in the am. That might work if I can get near an outlet and set up a small table maybe reserve a spot? Thats what the friend of mine who is going will do. Anyone interested in some bantam Buttercups or bantam Buckeye chicks? May also have some started Serama too. Or maybe some of those cute little Orloff bantams but... they will not be easy to get away from me! Or maybe some Vorwerk chicks? Or Pyncheons?

Sure. I'm not sure you can use their electricity. See you there!!! How will I recognize you?

If I get a space, I'll have some business cards out, on a 6' table. Name on cards is: Sawed - Off Chickens! That'll be us. May be myself and my wife and maybe 2 grumpy boys... oh joy.

It's been quiet in here lately!

Well, had another bantam Orloff chick hatch yesterday. He is at home in the brooder with his big bro or sis. One hour after hatching the little moose was already eating. The weather was so nice today, he went to the Head Start room with a few of his feathered friends for the children to see. Even little kids ooh and aah when they see chicks. Now its getting colder.

John Cheever called me back from Waverly and said there was inside space with outlets and I was welcome to set up a table for my chicks and that if I wanted, to bring along my P/T testing stuff in case others needed there birds tested. So, if you need your birds tested, I'll be there! You are supposed to have a P/T test for every bird over five months and if under 5 months, the parents are to be tested within 30 days of a swap. I think for a show (exhibit) is 90 days. If they are from a hatchery, need to have a copy of the NPIP# and VS-9,3. Like John said, " Iowa does not seem to have enough money to have someone properly check the paperwork. Oh well. It's just for your own flocks protection. If anyone has any questions about it... I am happy to help you out with some answers.

Stephanie... does it still look like you might be coming up? And how is formerly know as Bear (Mabel) doing? She has a few more Bros and Sis's now. Didn't have a big hatch last week but a few starting to wing.

Boys out of school early today and we are going to see Clash of the Titans! Critics panned the film but, maybe I can get some quality nap time in! LOL

Well the chick formally known as Bear is doing good, she spends most days outside but will not go in the coop at night. Instead she runs behind us waiting to be picked up and carried back inside to her cage. She still doesn't hang out with the flock, but she has gotten closer to them. She likes to hide under this particular big branch and peck at the ground there. We had been telling her that she was such a pretty, pretty princess so much that her name has become Princess or Princess P. That name has stuck - Mabel never did

I still plan on coming up to Waverly and will bring Chubby Bubby. So I have these baby roosters to sell - I HAVE to get them tested? They will be about 12 weeks old. I also have a bunch of chicks that will be two weeks old. How would I get all the parents tested? The chicks have never been near their parents...

My husband is bummed because he really wanted to go but he has drill that weekend.

Does anyone know if there will be somone selling hedge hogs or miniature hedge hogs at Waverly? My wife is fascinated by those little critters and we missed our opportunity to buy one last year. She also wants a goat but I have to put my foot down. We live in town and I KNOW the city would not let that fly! I ask her why she wants a goat when she's got an old goat like me?

I KNOW there will be goats there!!! There is a commercial dairy farm around the corner from me and they have hundreds of goats. I'll be setting up nets tot them.
