IA here

I Like the name and would LOVE to come see your place sometime! I also want to see the peafowl farm! We watched some peahens go for some decent money (to me anyway) at that auction Sunday. They were 2 and 3 year old hens. My husband said we are raising the wrong kind of birds. I really like that cameo color.

Peafowl are so hard to raise, that's why there aren't a lot of people doing it. For what you have into them, selling them for a lot of money usually gets you breaking even money wise. Liz and Dusty have so many varieties, it's hard for me to keep them all straight. Guess I'm going to have to buckle down and learn this stuff though. Don't want to look like an idiot to customers.

I ordered some serama eggs from bluegrass seramas yesterday. That is going to be the last thing I incubate for now. The eggs I got from you are due on Tuesday and then I have 4 serama X frizzled cochin eggs due the next week.

Hey Trish do you know when the first Waverly Swap of spring will be? I plan on hatching a bunch of chicks for it.

flash piont farm good for you! It must be exciting. Did you really dream that ????

Erick sorry you lost some chicks.

I understand about the rabbit concern. But if you think about it, all meat was at one time a cute little animal. To me all animals are cute in there own way. I love anilamals I always have. I should be a vegitarian as much as I love animals. BUT I have allways had an overwhelming desire to grow my own food. I think I am a little obsessed with it. It was very hard for me to kill my chickens and rabbits, but I need meat to eat. I have tried to do with out meat. Dont work for me. I could go on and on but I will shut up now......

I am haveing problems with my rabbits. Is there anyone or place around here were I could get some help with my rabbits? I got on byh with my questions but I need more help.

Thanks lisa

I'm with you Lisa - I have even been snuggling those poor red hens of mine - I feel so bad for them. They are just skin and bones. They have found their place within the flock. On a funnier note I was putting the puppies in the fenced area (where the chickens roam too) and one of the red hens came flying at my chicken chasing puppy and attacked him. He hightailed it straight for the back door with his tail between his legs. I hope she keeps doing that so he learns not to chase them anymore.

Also - I think I told you we just called our last gold comets "The Jennies" because I couldn't tell them apart when they were chicks. Now we have been calling these guys Jenny Beta. Anywho I just found out my mom was trying to explain to her old "egg lady" what breed I had and kept telling her they were something called Jenny.

I corrected her last night - they are gold comets just like the egg lady has...

Thanks, Lisa. And yes, I did really dream that. I have a close friend that gives riding lessons in real life. She was having me try out her new horse.

My farm used to be Flash Point Rabbitry. I may be able to help. Just send me a pm if you want.
