IA here

Sorry about your roo Kari - it was probably for the best.

Do you need a Ia Blue roo? I have one you could have. He is just starting to mature. Just let me know and he is yours!

Gonna go look up sanaan goats now...

Ok all the pics (well most of them) show solid white goats - do they come in other colors? I want a goat with some color to it.

Sanaans are usually white, but there is a "Peachy" variety too.

If you want color, you could go with an Alpine, which come in many colors. La Mancha's have no ears, but come in a lot of colors. As well as Nubians.

La Mancha's and Nubians tend to be trouble makers though. If you only have 1 or two, no biggee. But in the dairy line up at work, it's usually the Nubians and La Mancha's that are the trouble makers.

I just had someone ask me about buttercup eggs lol. Im not sure if they are going to lay enough to sell or not, have to wait til they get back to usual - the feed change might have thrown them off a bit. Hopefully we 5 eggs to incubate by the end of this week! Oh and your orloff chicks are really feathering in, I need to get another pic of them! When do they start to show signs of what sex they are? Around most time birds do? lol

Thanks for the offer Steph, but I still have 4 to choose from. He wasn't one of my first choices anyway. I have another that has a LOT of silver on his chest so I'm planning to keep him and the older one. That will still leave me with two I don't need. Any signs of aggression from yours yet? Mine are still so sweet!

That's been known to happen when Liz's 4 kids get ahold of the Livestock marker paint!

We've been marking the fresh does with green. My husband helped me milk the other day when Dusty and Liz were away. He got to mark a couple of fresh does for me. Now they have green happy faces on their butts.

Yep Kari - my Ia Blue is still pretty nice. He is a little more stand offish now that he is the flock roo but will still let me pick him up without a chase. Of course with all this snow where's he gonna run

The pullets are even sweeter. I have one or two that like to hide under the coop at night with some other outlaws. All I have to do is say "here chick, chick" and they come running to me. The other buttheads have to be drug out by whatever I can grab.

Trish - that EE roo I have is also super sweet tempered, his "sisters" though are flighty. The white one was that way though until she got to laying age and now she is nice.

It's been a long weekend and so I fell back asleep for awhile and dreamed I got a pair of goats. They were brown in color. I also picked up something else I shouldn't have animal wise but can't remember what it was - my focus was on the goats...
